In addition to over a dozen solo records (often unaccompanied), Joan La Barbara has collaborated on recordings and performances with artists, composers, dancers and poets, including Mathew Barney, Kenneth Goldsmith, Robert Ashley , John Cage, Larry Austin, Steve Reich, Merce Cunningham, Morton Feldman, Lou Harrison and Philip Glass.
She also composed and performed the music for an animated segment called Signing Alphabet on Sesame Street
La Barbara celebrates her 76th birthday today.
