A ninety-eight foot long artist'’s book documenting Broadway Street in 249 images laid out horizontally, three to a page, which are presented end-to-end so that the book becomes an uninterrupted continuum tracing New York City’'s oldest north-south thoroughfare.

Bound together with two laces, the book features an image of every intersection on Broadway, beginning with the financial district, then moving uptown to Soho, Times Square, the Upper West Side, Harlem, Sugar Hill and Inwood to Spuyten Duyvil, which separates Manhattan from the Bronx.

The title is available for between $750 and $1750, depending on condition and whether the title is from the signed or unsigned edition.

The horizontal layout, foldout binding, and wide format was modelled on Ed Ruscha’s book Dutch Details (below). Both artists were part of the Sonsbeek 71 exhibition in the Netherlands. Invited to produce a phonebook as part of his involvement, Ruscha traveled to Stadskanaal and photographed the facades of the houses along the canal, possibly calling back to his Every Building on the Sunset Strip book.
