Mieko Shiomi Disappearing | Flux Music for Envelopes

Mieko Shiomi
Disappearing Flux Music for Envelopes
New York City, USA: Fluxus, 1965
11.6 x 17.3 cm.
Edition size unknown

Fluxus 1 consists of a series of printed pages and envelopes bound together by nuts and bolts. Mieko Shiomi's contribution is a series of envelopes inside her envelope, deescalating in size like Russian Dolls.

The work's title is similar to Shiomi's Disappearing Music for Face, which is both a film and flip book (see below). It consists of a close-up of Yoko Ono's mouth going from "smile" to "no smile".
