Tokyo is the latest city in a series of postcards by Monk that has also included Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, New York, Mexico City, Paris, Torino, San Francisco and Berlin (see 2012 post, here).
At the time of purchase, the buyer's address is sent to the artist in Berlin/Rome, who signs and addresses the card and sends it - in an envelope - to Tokyo. There the envelope is removed, a local stamp is affixed and the card is sent to the buyer from the mail box pictured on the front of the card.
