Art Metropole's new space

After 25 years at 788 King Street West, Art Metropole has relocated to Dundas & Dufferin. The new location, at 1490 Dundas Street West, opened to the public a week ago. The new space trades size (it's pretty small compared to King St) for a ground-level storefront, presumably to emphasize the retail aspect of the organization. It leaves behind neighbours The Ydessa Hendeles Foundation and the Tecumseth Galleries (Diaz Contemporary, Susan Hobbs, Birch Libralato, etc.) for the burgeoning scene of Dundas West, anchored by Jessica Bradley Art + Projects at 1450 Dundas St, and recently joined by MKG127 at 1445 Dundas St (grand opening tomorrow, with an exhibition curated by Germaine Koh). The oddities bookstore Monkey's Paw is just down the street at 1229 Dundas St, as is the the temporary location for Gallery TPW, at 1256 Dundas.
