Album covers by artists: Damien Hirst
In August of last year the Red Hot Chili Peppers released their tenth studio album, I'm With You, featuring a cover design by Damien Hirst.
Singer Anthony Kiedis spoke to Classic Rock magazine about the image: "It’s an image. It’s art. Iconic. We didn’t give it it’s meaning but it’s clearly open to interpretation."
A few months later bassist Flea and Hirst announced a series of Spin Bass Guitars created in aid of Flea's non-profit Silverlake Conservatory of Music.
In 1994 Hirst designed the cover for ex-Eurthymics solo record Greetings from the Gutter, and the lead-off single Heart of Stone. The LP included a song called Damien Save Me.
The 2009 album See the Light by the Hours features a Hirst design that combines the skull imagery of his recent work, with his earlier spin painting.
