Multiples Multiples Multiples opened minutes ago

The 2nd annual Multiples Multiples Multiples event is taking place today at Art Metropole in Toronto, from noon to five pm.

In Toronto there’s a tight-knit community of publishers interested in editions. Today, several of us are presenting a pop-up shop at MKG127, from noon to six. Participants include Paul+Wendy Projects, Slow Editions, GuyGuyGuy, Alicia’s Klassic Kool Shoppe, Jimmy Limit & Maggie Groat and our own Nothing Else Press. 

For several years the Toronto Art Fair accommodated publishers of artists’ books and multiples but this stopped during Covid, and hasn’t returned. So this event harkens back to something four of us (along with Bywater Brothers) hosted years ago at G Gallery. 

Whether you’re doing some last minute Christmas shopping (or Christmas shopping), or nearby enough to stop in and say hello, please drop by. There will be things available for every price range, including risographed zines, rubber stamps, t-shirts,  tote-bags, hats, scarves, postcards, prints, pins, clocks, sculpture, stickers, ceramics, cards, etc. etc.

The Nothing Else Press is pleased to announce their sixteenth edition, a bookwork by Jimmy Limit. In 2007 Limit created a 'zine consisting of photographs he took while driving past Niagara Falls. They were reproduced as black & white photocopies, removing the colour from the rainbows. Only a small number of these 'zines were distributed. This facsimile reprint is housed in a foil-stamped card stock envelope, and is available in an edition of 100 numbered copies.

Jimmy Limit is a photo based artist living in St Catharines Ontario.  His show Recent Advancements at Rodman Hall won the OAAG Award for Best Monographic Solo Show under $20,000 in 2014.  Other notable recent exhibits include Show Room at Clint Roenisch Gallery in Toronto, The Time Machine at Frutta Gallery in Rome.  His work has appeared on the covers of C Magazine and cura.

OAAG Awards

Congrats to Jimmy Limit and curator Marcie Bronson for winning the best exhibition OAAG award for Jimmy Limit: Recent Advancements at Rodman Hall. And to the Art Gallery of York University for their seven wins, including Art Publication of the year for Will Munro: History, Glamour, Magic. And to all of the other winners and nominees.

Jimmy Limit: Show Room opens tonight

Jimmy Limit: Show Room opens tonight at the Clint Roenisch Gallery (944 Queen St. West, Toronto) and runs until February 23rd. The reception starts at 7pm. As far as I can tell (with drive-by glance in the window last night) the show consists of framed photos from his most recent book (or at least a continuation of the style), and some shelved sculptural pieces in the back room.
