The new Wu-Tang Clan LP - their first since 2007's 8 Diagrams - will reportedly be released in an edition of one. The plan is to tour the record, but the recordings can only be heard in museums and other institutions (for a fee), and will then to be sold to the highest bidder. A plexiglass container, commercial hairdryer and ping-pong ball make up this Hirst edition, produced for the 40th issue of Parkett Magazine. The ping-pong ball is kept afloat by a the air of the hairdryer.
The work is part of the ‘Mental Escapology’ series, which also featured beach balls and other items hovering in mid-air.
