Ken Lum | Hashtag

Ken Lum's new lightbox for MKG127 was installed today, at 1445 Dundas Street West. Titled Hashtag, the work is "interested in the idea of a forbidden hashtag message," said Lum, "I wanted to invite the viewer to speculate what are some things that cannot be said."

Beginning four years ago with Kay Rosen's Hi, the gallery has consistently used its exterior signage as a venue for an artists' project. In addition to Lum and Rosen, signs have been commissioned by Josh Thorpe, Geoffrey Pugen and Roula Partheniou (Fluorescent Tube, 2013, below, top).
