This Week on Tumblr
This week on Tumblr: Editions published by Vice-Versand. Founded in 1967 by Wolfgang Feelisch, Vice-Versand produced multiples using readily available and cheap materials, in the hopes of making artworks affordable to anyone. They were designed to be sold through the mail, hence the name (Versand translates to mail-order). The editions were unlimited and the number actually produced varied considerably, from a couple hundred, to more than twelve-thousand, as was reportedly the case for Joseph Beuys' Intuition box. In their most active time (1968-1969) they produced works by Joseph Beuys, George Brecht, Robert Filliou, Dieter Roth, Daniel Spoerri and many others, under the umbrella name Art in The Household.
