A cardboard box containing 63 music scores, to be played - in whole or in part - in any sequence, for any duration, with any number of performers.
Concert for Piano and Orchestra was composed between 1957 and 1958 and premiered in New York, May 15th, 1958. It accopanied a choreographed piece by Cage’s lover Merce Cunningham entitled Antic Meet, which also featured costume and stage design by Robert Rauschenberg.
