Art historian Stephen John Bury is an authority on both artists' books and multiples. He is currently the Chief Librarian of the Frick Art Reference Library in New York City and writes a regular column on artists' publications for Art Monthly. His more recent titles include Artists' Multiples 1935 - 2000 (2001) and Breaking the Rules: The Printed Face of the European Avant-Garde, 1990–1937
(2007).

Artist's Books: The Book As a Work of Art, 1963–1995 from 1995 is being reissued later this month by Bernard Quaritch. The expanded and updated second edition will include new texts, new bibliographic descriptions of 600 key artists’ books and over 130 new, full-page, colour illustrations taken from the internationally renowned Chelsea College of Art & Design Library collection.
