From a series of works involving convoluted and complex ‘conspiracy theory’ readings of popular films, this piece is currently part of The Sweetest Little Thing, an annual auction and event to raise funds for the two galleries in town. The Owens Art Gallery is the country’s oldest University gallery and Struts is an Artist-Run-Centre with a reputation for punching above it’s weight bringing artists to town as part of it’s renowned residency program. 

The auction’s MO is smaller, affordable artworks and this year includes work by many artists who have featured on this site, see hashtags below.

A 36-page book consisting of full-colour, full-bleed images of thirty analog collages produced between 2019 and 2023. The title is printed on uncoated, recycled paper stock. To maintain a bookwork free of text, an info card with a list of titles is tipped in. 

The works combine imagery from children’s books with art historical references and religious ephemera. While playful and funny, an undercurrent of violence is revealed in the source material. 

Paul Henderson’s two-person exhibition with Andrea Morton is up now at the Blue Building in Halifax, with a rescheduled opening reception for Saturday February 10th, from 6 to 8pm. Titled The Eye is the Blade, the exhibition continues until March. The Blue Building is at 2482 Maynard Street. Visit their website, here, for more information.
