Marcia Hafif | Pomona Houses

Marcia Hafif
Pomona Houses
New York City, USA: Mother Lode Editions, 1972
[unpaginated], 14.3 × 17.8 cm., staple-bound
Edition of 300 signed and numbered copies

A textless artists' book consisting of black-and-white photographs of suburban homes in Pomona, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. The title was released seven years after Ed Ruscha's “Some Los Angeles Apartments,” and Hafif was purportedly unaware of his book when making hers (which seems entirely plausible, given how long his books took to gain any traction).
