Asked an hour into the Frieze New York VIP preview to name his favorite project so far, actor Leonardo DiCaprio told ARTnews “Jonathan Horowitz at Gavin Brown’s. It’s a honeycomb of dots people are painting. I thought that was really cool.”
A year prior, Horowitz released the book 402 Dots, which collects 401 dots by other artists and one by Horowitz, all painted with pre-provided brushes and paint. Each artist was instructed to paint a freehand solid black dot on the white canvas.
